OMG have reached finals for Professional Beautys Best Small Salon 2010 and Best Employer 2010. Beauty Director Vanda Tanner recently travelled to London to be interviewed by the judging panel. Eeek! Results will be announced at the awards ceremony in March!

OMG entertains Swindons Womens 12.30 networking group
OMG held a Xmas fare for their 12.30 group and OMG clients at their Xmas fayre. Mince pies and bubbly all round, nails painted, hair done and skin scanned! It was a lovely festive night with opportunities to network and make the most of our hair and beauty services. Please contact OMG if you would like to hold your company party here.
OMG Picks Up Salon newcomer of 2009 Award
OMG are excited to announce winning SPAN Training & Developments Salon Newcomer of the year award! Praise was given to our passion and enthusiasm for the industry and our dedication, commitment and success through training. Lee Stafford, celebrity hairdresser gave us our award, which obviously pleased the OMG girls!

OMG Treats the Teens!
In November we held a teen night for all our teen clients. It was a chance for young girls to get together, have a bit of fun and learn about hair and beauty too. Nails were polished, hair was done and some demos on how to look after their skin and hair were given.
OMG visits New York
Beauty Director Vanda Tanner paid a visit to SOHO, New York to spend time with the Dermalogica team at their concept store. OMG uses Dermalogica in its facials and it was a great opportunity to see how our US counterparts use the brand and to spend some time with the experts who are passionate about skin care and education.

OMG Best of British!
OMG celebrated making it to the finals of the British Hairdressing Awards, as a finalist in the Best British Newcomer category. We are absolutely delighted of this achievement as on the night it really was an evening full of the best in the hair industry and to see our name up in lights in front of key names such as Errol Douglas, Lisa Shephard etc, well it was great! Thanks to all our clients for your loyalty and support and of course to our great OMG team!

OMG are holding a celebrity tanning evening, where St Tropezs representative, Jenna – who has spray tanned Boyzone!! will be visiting the salon to do a demonstration and sun awareness talk. OMG reaches final of the British Hairdressing Awards
OMG are so excited at reaching the finals of Best independent newcomer 2009! This is a very prestigious event and award in the hairdressing industry - recognising new entrants and the positive impact they have. Entrants are judged on their marketing and business skills as well as their customer care programmes and overall professionalism. OMG are the only salon in the South West ever to reach this final. The OMG team will be travelling down in style, to London at the end of September to hear the results.

OMG reaches Top 50 in Most Desirable Salon 2009
OMG are absolutely delighted to reach Number 17 in the Top 50 shortlist! Hundreds of nominations were originally received and we made it to the final 50 and then industry peers and salons have been voting for their favourites ever since. To make it this far in our second year is awesome! Some of the salons have huge budgets, are large corporations or have been around for many many years! Well done and thank you to the OMG team, without you, this wouldn’t be possible and thank you to all our clients as it is because of you that we drive ourselves forward to be the best we can be.

OMG visited Swindon's steam museum and had a fantastic day preparing its models and showcasing its talents. Visit our hair page to see the collection.
OMG helps drive forward the Hair & Beauty Diploma in Swindon
OMG has been selected as a best practice salon for the hair and beauty industry and have been working closely with the local council and college to develop an online elearning tool that will help bring salon employment to life. The new diplomas aim to bring a more rounded approach to career progression. Focusing on personal development and capability, as opposed to just skills. Learning will also be more relevant and salon specific. Watch this space for a snapshot of the etool soon!

Client Notice
With effect from 23rd June 2009, there will be a small price increase. We have not raised OMG prices since we opened over 1 ½ years ago. Our suppliers put up their prices 6 months ago but we opted as a gesture in these times to hold off passing this on for as long as we could.

We are launching a fabulous new treatment menu - some prices have even been reduced, some frozen and others increased, reasonably, at an average of 5.5%

Your custom and loyalty remains greatly appreciated.

Becky reaches the final 9 in the Nations Favourite Hairdresser Competition!
Becky beats over 1400 hairdressers across the country to make it to the final 9. She goes to London for the final test on 30th April. Good luck Becky and thank you to everyone who voted for her.

Love Your Skin Night @ OMG! Tues 24th March 7:30pm
Dermalogica will be delivering a presentation on skin management, their Top Ten products and will be conducting Skin Scans all night! The OMG beauty team will also be conducting free Face Mapping consultations and mini demos on the night.
OMG welcomes Kimberley, our new nail technician. Kim has over 9 years experience as a nail technician and does fantastic extensions - gel and fibreglass, temporary nails, awesome nail art, manicures and can advise you on the condition on your nails and any problems you may be experiencing. Please pop in and say hi and have a look at her display of work. OMG are currently offering a 10% discount on all of Kims treatments.
The OMG beauty team travelled up to London this week for the Professional Beauty Awards. OMG were in the finals for the category Best Beauty Salon of 2009. We didnt win but are extremely pleased at reaching the final 6 in a national competition in our first year of opening. The winners brochure gave us some really good comments and we look forward to developing our beauty department even further over the coming months. It was great to see that a lot of our suppliers picked up awards too - proof that OMG really does use the best products in the industry. Dermalogica were awarded best skincare system of the year - so come into OMG for your free Dermalogica face mapping session!

Santa visits OMG!
As a gesture to our clients, OMG arranged for Santa to visit OMG over christmas. Our clients and passers by loved it! We saw smiling faces, waves and toots of peoples horns as they drove past. Sants gave out sweets and OMG flyers. It certainly generated some fun and happy christmas spirit.

OMG was presented with the Swindon New Business 2008 award this week. The Swindon Stragegic Economic partnership, in conjunction with Swindon Borough Council hold an annual competion, and this year, OMG won! Vanda and Becky Tanner collected the award at the SSEP conference at Liddington Hotel, in front of over 150 Swindon business representatives, the Swindon Mayor and local MP Ann Snelgrove. OMG would like to thank its team for their contribution to the achievement of this award and also to all our clients - your support is really appreciated. Please keep continuing to spread the OMG word!

OMG goes Pink!
OMG staff recently came to work wearing pink and decorated the salon in pink. A raffle was held and over £100 raised for Cancer relief. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
Andrea Wins The Title!
OMG wishes to congratulate its client Andrea Fitzgerald for recently winning the title Miss Fit England 2008. OMG is inspired by her dedication and determination and just wanted to officialy say well done! OMG helped Andrea along the way, by doing her spray tanning, manicures, pedicures, nail art, waxing and hair styling. Good luck for your next competition in October.
Charity Night - Goldenhar Syndrome
A clients son has Goldenhar Syndrome, which has affected his hearing and eyesight. His grandfather owns the music shop R J Holmes in Faringdon Road, the same road where OMG is situated. So to help support Alan Holmes and his family, OMG beauty therapists took part in a charity waxing and nail painting evening on 15th October at Longs Bar, Swindon. GloMinerals hits OMG! On 23rd September, OMG hosted a mineral makeup party. GloMinerals is huge in America and has been used in many films such as Pirates of The Carribean. Guests were treated to an educational presentation on the differences of conventional makeup versus mineral and the benefits of Glo on the skin. A demonstration then followed so that guests could see it in real life. If anyone would like to purchase GloMinerals makeup, pop into OMG, we can talk to you about it and have lots of brochures.
OMG showcases its wedding styling at the De Vere Bridal Fayre. On 28th September members of the OMG team gave visitors to the fayre a chance to see our bridal styling skills. Delivering demonstrations of makeup and hair styling and free consultations, so if you are getting married, please contact us to book yourself in. Also, check out our gallery for more examples.
OMG welcomes the Swindon F.A.T group to the salon. Fit Active Teenagers is a group of young ladies, established by the Swindon Borough Council and each week they perform activities which help raise self esteem, confidence, knowledge and fitness. OMG hosted an event which educated the girls on how to look after their hair, skin and nails. Free hair consultations, nail shape and paints, mini facials and hair styling was performed on the night. A great night was had by all!
OMG welcomes Rachel to the salon, shes embarking on her first year, training to be a hairstylist, we wish her every success. OMG also gives a very warm welcome to Stacey, a senior stylist and Ian, an executive stylist with over 20 years hairdressing experience.

In August, OMG Hair director Becky Tanner and the hair team all attended a charity educational seminar, hosted by celebrity and world acclaimed hairdresser Lee Stafford. The evening raised money for a young cancer patient. The team saw Lee and his business partner perform over ten haircuts and colours. And they had the opportunity to ask questions and watch the master in action! It was a great learning opportunity, watch out for the techniques being used in the salon!

ESSIE wins Professional Beauty Awards April 2008 - Nailcare Supplier of the year! OMG only uses Essie products for its manicures and pedicures. Receiving great accolade from clients who absolutely love the colours, its durability and reasonable prices. We also sell the varnishes and its nailcare products. Beauty Director Vanda Tanner recently provided Marcus Kelly with a mans nail shape up and tidy, using Essies MAN-e-Cure. Marcus is a longstanding client of Executive Hair Stylist and Co-owner of OMG, Becky Tanner. He and his fiance recently won a competition and will be featured in Junes edition of OK. Marcus said "I cant believe how much better my nails look and know they will now look great in the photo shoot!"
